Project Co-Lead – Resource Library

Advocacy, Policy and Research Committee

The Resource Library Project Co-Lead is responsible for the development of a robust resource centre and overseeing working groups ensuring sub-projects are all on-track. The lead will also support volunteers (i.e. tool-kit content creators) in developing country-cards and other advocacy resources. They will be the first-point of contact to resolve any issues within the sub-project. They will facilitate work between volunteers from different committees and are accountable to the YAB Co-Chairs from the leading committee.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead in the development of the resource library per the YASM Action Plan
  • Lead the sub-activities taking place and provide feedback to Co-Chairs on progress
  • Support timely completion of tasks and ensure project volunteers are on track to meet deadlines
  • Help motivate and resolve conflict within teams with support of Co-Chairs or YASM Directors as needed
  • Liaise with other Project Leads within activity on specified tasks.

Skills Needed

  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Proven data collection and analysis skills
  • Must be computer literate
  • Project Management will be an added advantage
  • Interpersonal skills with an ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Self-driven and passionate about feminism.
  • Flexible with time-management

Evaluation

The first three months of the volunteer experience will be an orientation period with an evaluation upon completion of the orientation period. All volunteers will have an opportunity for check-ins every 60 days with formal evaluations from the committee Co-Chairs every six months about their work and performance to help guide them in their professional development.

Training and Supervision

  • Attends general volunteer orientation
  • Participates in capacity building and educational workshops throughout their time as a volunteer
  • Training and supervision conducted by the Co-Chairs of the Advocacy, Research and Policy Committee
  • Submits progress reports on ongoing and completed tasks.

Time Commitment

  • 15-20 hours per week
  • Flexible hours that are result oriented; occasionally more hours (temporarily) as needs arise
  • Activities and meetings will be set collaboratively to fit volunteers’ schedules
  • Commitment includes time required to communicate with Co-Chairs and Board of Directors
